Fiscal Responsibility: Ensuring Effective Use of Resources
Our public education system faces considerable challenges in the years ahead. With my work on the LPIE Board since 2020 and experience on the District Budget Advisory Committee with the Lafayette School that identified $2 million in cost savings and revenue opportunities recently, I am positioned to help our district tackle its fiscal challenges effectively. I will collaborate with others in creating a financially sustainable future for our schools, ensuring that every dollar of our budget spent maximizes the impact of our resources on student achievement and advances initiatives that align with our educational objectives and district mission.
Academic Excellence: Supporting High Standards and Opportunities
I am committed to enhancing our award-winning schools by promoting academic excellence through engaging and dynamic curriculum, innovative teaching methods, and comprehensive support system. This includes attracting and retaining exceptional educators, investing in their professional development, expanding programs, and providing resources for students to excel in their studies. By prioritizing these efforts to foster a passion for learning, we can prepare our students for future success in a rapidly changing world.
Safe and Inclusive Environment: Fostering a Sense of Belonging for All
Creating a safe and inclusive school environment is crucial for student success and well-being. I will work to implement and reinforce policies that promote safety and respect among students. I will promote programming that addresses achievement and belonging gaps identified by the District’s annual data collection. I will support enhancing community-building programs, ensuring equitable access to resources, and providing support for every student, which is essential for their academic and personal growth.
I met Paul weeks after he and his family moved to Lafayette. He raised his hand to help our schools right away, and he hasn't wavered in his support ever since. His dedication and commitment to all students, along with his professional and personal experience, will add tremendous value to the Acalanes Union High School Board.
